On an average basis, the general work that is executed on a laptop for most of the users are things like MS Office, web browsing and media consumption. For these types of tasks, the under Rs. 40000 laptop category will do just fine. However, there does exist a group of users who want a little extra. That little extra being, light gaming without the need for a gaming laptop, 1080p video editing/rendering, photoshop, and some programming or Machine learning work.

Today’s article is for those users. Here we will take a look at the best laptops under 60000 in India 2019. We have covered 6 laptops on this list from brands like HP, Dell, Acer, Asus, and Lenovo. All these brands are well known in the laptops category and provide good after-sales support.

Features that one can expect when purchasing a laptop in the 60000 price range are 1080p Full HD displays, 8GB RAM with an option to upgrade it to 16GB, Intel Core i5 or i7 or AMD Ryzen 5 CPUs, 128GB to 512GB SSD and finally 2GB to 4GB graphics memory with AMD or Nvidia graphics cards like 1050 or 1050Ti.

With that said let’s jump into the list of best laptops under 60000 in India.

1. Asus Vivobook 8th Gen Core i5 14 inch Laptop

Image of Asus Vivobook 8th Gen Core i5 14 inch Laptop which is one of the best laptops under 60000

Asus has always been great at providing great value for money. The Vivobook lineup of laptops is the very evidence of that. With the Vivobook 14, Asus’s tagline is that less is always more. Let’s verify that, shall we?

The Vivobook 14 comes with a 14-inch FHD resolution1920X1080p display. Being an LED backlight panel the colors on the display is going to be great. What’s better the panel also happens to be anti-glare to prevent background light glare. The display which makes media consumption completely immersive is the 87% screen to body ratio. This is achieved by the 5.7mm thin bezels on both sides and at the top. Asus calls this Nano-edge display and we are damn sure you will love it. The viewing angles of the display are not great though.

The Vivobook 14 is powered by the 8th gen Intel Core i5 processor. This is a quad-core 15W processor that is clocked at 1.6GHz and can be boosted up to 3.9GHz. The laptop is backed up by an 8GB RAM which is dual-channel, what’s better it can be upgraded up to 12GB in the future. On the storage front the Vivobook 14 rocks a 512GB SSD which will not only boot your laptop faster but also run software and games smoothly.

The Vivobook 14 also comes with 2GB of Nvidia's MX230 graphics card. This by no means turns the Vivobook this onto a gaming laptop however it does give the laptop a lot of juice to do tasks like video editing and rendering at 1080p and using photoshop without any major problems. Light gaming at low to medium settings is also very much possible. As long as you are not expecting gaming laptop level performance you will be more than happy. Finally, we have Windows 10 Home Operating system preinstalled.

Then comes the ports department. To the left of the laptop, we have a power port, an HDMI port, a USB 3.1 port, a USB Type C 3.1 port and finally a headphone jack. While to the right we have a USB 2.0 port and Micro SD card slot.

Finally, we get a backlight chicklet keyboard, a fingerprint sensor for fast and easy windows login, audio tuning from SonicMaster and what Asus calls an ErgoLift Hinge which raises the laptop a bit to help with thermals and a better typing position. The battery life will be 4 to 5 hours depending on usage. Last but not the least we have a 720p webcam better than most of the laptops at this price range and a 1-year warranty covers manufacturing defects.

Overall, this is a well-balanced laptop from Asus and one of the best lightweight laptops under 60000 in India with Intel Core i5 processor and 2GB Nvidia graphics.

Image of Lenovo Ideapad S340 8th Gen Core i5 14 inch Laptop which is one of the best laptops under 60000

The Ideapad series from Lenovo has always provided great value for money under the Rs. 30000 or 40000 price point. However, the Ideapad S340 is priced under Rs. 60000 . Let us see what sort of value do we get when the stakes are now almost double.

To begin with the display, we have a 14-inch FHD panel that has a resolution of 1920X1080 pixels. The panel is anti-glare and will be able to reflect light in the background mostly. The colors reproduced will not be very accurate it is not going to disappoint you either. Thanks to the narrow side bezels the actual dimension of the laptop is slightly smaller than a regular 14-inch laptop.

The specs on the S340 are decent for medium to heavy use.  The processor driving the show is a standard 8th Gen Core i5 processor. It clocked at 1.6GHz base with boosts going up to 3.9GHz. The processor is coupled to a dual-channel 8GB RAM which can further be upgraded to 16GB. For internal storage, we get to work with a 512GB SSD. This will result in faster bootup times from sleep and also help with software opening times. Yes, it’s true that there is no dedicated graphics card however the internal graphic card is good enough for day to day usage. The software front is taken care of by Windows 10 Home OS.

The ports on the laptop are again decent with the power port, HDMI port, USB 3.1 type C port and the headphone jack situated to the left of the laptop. While the right of the laptop houses 2 USB 3.0 port and an SD card slot. The S340 covers most of the essential ports and you will not be disappointed with it.

The S340 also comes with a 4W speaker system which is tuned by Dolby to give you the best sound experience. What’s better is this that MS office 2019 comes preinstalled thus is ideal for students and business users. The battery onboard is a 3 cell one and although Lenovo advertises for the battery life to be 8 hours real-world usage can at the max get you around 5 hours of usage. However, the 65W fast charger in the box will top it up faster than normal chargers would.  There is also a 720p webcam which is decent for making the occasional video call. Finally, we get a 1-year warranty on the laptop’s manufacturing defects.

Overall, it is a nice looking lightweight laptop that is powerful enough to handle heavy software and applications.

3. Acer Swift 3 8th Gen Core i5 15.6 inch Laptop

Image of Acer Swift 3 8th Gen Core i5 15.6 inch Laptop which is one of the best laptops under 60000

The Swift series from Acer has always aimed at providing value for money offerings. The SF315 or rather the Swift 3 is the very proof of this. The display on the Swift 3 is a 15.6 inch one and at Full HD resolution runs natively at 1920X1080p. The panel also has an antiglare coating. The best part about the display is this that its an IPS one which means that colors will look nice and vibrant and media consumption will be decent. All in all, the Swift 3 carries on the tradition of delivering quality panels that all laptops of Swift series offer.

The hardware on the Swift is also pretty good. The laptop is powered by an 8th gen Intel Core i5 processor. This is a quad-core processor that’s clocked at 1.6GHz base and 3.4GHz boost. The RAM used onboard is an 8GB one which is also dual channel.

Acer has two things here. One, they have a 2nd RAM slot for future RAM upgradability for up to 16GB. Two, they have used Intel Optane memory in here. This means apart from the 1TB of HDD used for storage of offline media the 16GB Optane memory is going to help in maybe not as fast boot speeds as SSD laptops but surely is your system going to boot faster and runs a few software faster than traditional laptops. Finally, we get the support of 2GB of NVDIA’s MX130 GPU which does not turn the laptop into a gaming one but will surely help in light 1080p video editing and also with light gaming.

The ports scenario is also pretty solid in here. On the left side, we get a USB 2.0 port and a full-size SD card slot. To the right of the laptop reside the power port, HDMI port, 2 USB 3.0 ports, USB 3.1 type C port and a headphone jack. Acer has managed to cover almost all the necessary ports that you might require.

The webcam on the laptop is a 720p one and will not disappoint you while making a video call. The fingerprint sensor onboard will help you log into windows quickly. The battery inside the laptop is a 4 cell one and will definitely get you an easy 5 to 6 hours of usage again based on the work you do. Even if you do end up killing the charge on your laptop Acer includes a 65W charger with which you can quickly bring it back to life.

Finally, for the sound system, we have got speakers with TrueHarmony Technology and you will love it. They are loud and clear and provide a good experience. Overall, it is a good laptop under 60000 from Acer.

4. HP Pavilion Ryzen 5 15.6 inch Laptop

Image of HP Pavilion Ryzen 5 15.6 inch Laptop which is one of the best laptops under 60000

HP is one of the top brands when it comes to providing quality laptops. The Pavilion lineup of laptops brings 3 things to the table. Smooth performance, good build quality, and a nice display.

The Pavilion 15 on the display front rocks a beautiful 15.6-inch FHD display with a resolution of 1920X1080. The display also comes with an anti-glare coating to help reduce reflections due to background light.  Now there are 2 things that make the display this good. One, HP has used something called micro-edge display, what this does is this that it reduces the side and bottom bezels considerably giving the laptop a pretty immersive look. Two, the display used in here is an IPS one which means that colors will be nice and vibrant and the viewing angle will not be much of a problem.

The Pavilion 15 laptop is powered by the powerful AMD Ryzen 5 2500U CPU. This is a quad-core processor that runs at a base speed of 2GHz and a boost speed of 3.6GHz. This is paired to an 8GB dual-channel RAM which can further be upgraded to 16GB in the future. The memory system used in here is amazing. It’s a hybrid drive which means that the 128GB SSD onboard helps with extremely fast boot times and software run times and the 1TB hard drive is perfect for storing offline content. Although there is no dedicated graphics card the Vega 8 graphics card is pretty powerful than most of the integrated graphics card and is almost on par with a dedicated MX110 from NVIDIA. Day to day tasks on this PC will not be a problem at all and it can handle heavy software and apps like Photoshop and Adobe Premiere as well.

Finally, the ports on the laptop are pretty good too. To the left of the laptop, we have an HDMI port, an ethernet port, USB 3.1 Type C port and finally a headphone jack. To the right of the laptop, we have a power port, 2 USB 3.1 port and finally a full-sized SD card slot. HP has packed in every single port that you could possibly want and this is great by our books.

Plus, the laptop comes with a wide-angle HD webcam, an upward-firing speaker powered by B and O and a 3-cell battery which is good for 4 to 5 hours of use.

If you need a premium looking laptop under 60000 then this is a great option from HP.

The Inspiron 5000 packs in, all the ports necessary for the day to day task. To the left, we have a power port, exhaust vent, HDMI port, 1 USB 2.0 port, and 1 USB 3.1 port.
